David Teem
Lead Pastor

Pastor David is the main teaching elder
here at Immanuel Baptist Church. He has
been working in church ministry since
2008. His favorite part of the job is taking
the truths of scripture and showing how its
ancient wisdom still solves modern
problems. Around here, we call that truth
with handles. He has been married to his
wonderful wife Amy since 2004. Together
they have 5 children that keep them full
time running to softball and swimming
practices.

Brenden Lawson
Pastor of Youth & Worship

Pastor Brenden has been at Immanuel since 2015. He loves teaching the high school and middle school students about the Bible and giving them opportunities to live out their faith through serving. In addition, he plays guitar (and sometimes keyboard) while leading our praise band. Brenden is famous for marrying Jaime, who helps out a lot with our ladies ministry. He also has two teenage kids and his family loves hanging out at the beach!

What We Believe

There is only one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; 1 John 4:13-15)

The Holy Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself and His plan; written by men divinely inspired of God, infallible and authoritative. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Psalm 119:9-24)

Man was created in a state of holiness and union with God and became separated from God by sin originally through yielding to the temptation of Satan. (Genesis 3:1-13; Romans 5:12)

Jesus Christ was God the Son incarnate. His was a Virgin Birth; a sinless life; and a clear demonstration of His deity via the miracles He performed and the perfect sacrifice He made for atonement of man’s sins. Jesus was resurrected from the grave in body and spirit; ascended to the right hand of God in heaven; and will visibly and personally return to earth in power and glory. (Matthew 28:5-7; Acts 1:9-11)

Man is restored to relationship with God (salvation) only by accepting the deity and substitute sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ through the forgiving grace of God lest no man should boast of his own righteousness. (Hebrews 4:14-16; Matthew 1:18)

Every believer in Jesus Christ has direct access to God wih no human mediator. The believer is privileged to read and interpret the Scriptures as guided by God the Holy Spirit. (1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:16, John 14:13-14; 1 John 1:9; Hebrews 9:12-24;                 2 Corinthians 5:17-20)

All humans are spiritual beings and have free will to choose eternal life with God through repentance of sins and faith in Jesus Christ or eternal separation from God in Hell by rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord. (1 John 5:11-13)

Marriage is defined as a holy covenant relationship between one man and one woman. A person may be legally married to only one person at any one point in time. Marriages outside of these parameters will not be performed by church ministers nor performed on church property. (Genesis 2:22-24; Romans 7:2-3; Hebrews 13:4)
